general cuteness.

stetson was telling me all about it this morning.  the more lively he gets, the more fun it is.  i know a lot of these pictures are starting to look the same, but i reckon most folks understand how crazy you are about your own children.  sometimes when i'm looking at him i feel like my heart might explode.  can't get over it.

and so it begins.

the duke family went to visit the mcmillan family at cmc charlotte today.  jude w mcmillan was there being new and cute.  stetson and jude played together. as well as a two month old and a two day old can play together.  stetson was gentle and jude was quite well mannered.   

jude has a cry (scream) that will shatter your heart and make you love life all at the same time.  it's a perfect cry. an appropriate cry. he's a big spirit in small body, with hands that could palm a basketball. he's going to cast shadows quite early i believe.

stetson is clean/cute. stetson is sweet/neat. stetson is boss/champion.

stetson now enjoys being bathed. who wouldn't i guess.  he enjoys soaking at a modest 98 degrees.  he does not enjoy being taken out of the bath.  at all. he prefers his rear end warm, not cold.

*note to new parents. when bathing your boy, place a wash cloth over his special purpose to avoid getting/needing a shower of your own.

starting last night and this morning stetson is smiling up a storm.  it'll make your day.  in a major way.

addicted.

stetson is pretty much the best thing ever.  i miss him when he's sleeping and want to go get him out of his bed.  but i don't because i don't want to create a monster.  it's hard though.  he's so cute and is smiling alot more and "talking" to us.  james says i'm addicted to him.  and he also calls me a baby hog.  i can't help it.  last night we fought over who was getting him up to feed him before we went to bed.  well, not really fought but seeing who could get to him first.  we aren't quite that excited at 4 am.

last night marked the first time stetson slept through the night.  he slept from 12 to 8:15.  when i woke up and realized it was light outside and i hadn't heard a peep out of him, i couldn't believe it.  i'm sure it won't be a regular thing yet but it sure was wonderful.  he's also starting to smile more...maybe on purpose?...it'll pretty much melt your heart.

one month checkup.

at stetson's one month well-check he weighed 9 lbs 9.6 oz and had grown to 22 in long.  he is in the 50th percentile for weight and 75th percentile for length.  it seems like he's getting bigger every day.  it's kinda sad how fast it happens.  we're just trying to enjoy him at this stage as much as we can.

at the doctor.

we had to take stetson to the doctor because he was having some stomach/eating issues.  our doctor gave him medicine for acid reflux and we started slowly transitioning him over to formula for sensitive stomachs.  no more fussing.

he sure was cute even though he wasn't feeling too good.
